It is not uncommon for new brands to come up with new product ideas in the market even though they might not be that well known as the leading brands of the time. One of the examples of such a phenomenon is none other than the name Alcatel.
Despite not being in league with other high quality brands, it comes up at intervals with advanced Smart phones with features no less than that of big brands.
Its latest offering is the new Alcatel Blaze Duo OT-918N with a dual SIM facility. However, this is not the only product Alcatel has launched. It has come up with a twin Smart phone to accompany the OT-918N called the Blaze Duo OT-918D.
Variant Characteristics
Both these devices are far from being exact identical twins in respect to their in-built characteristics.
The region of availability and frequency level vary immensely. The OT-918N works on 850MHz/2100MHz frequency to do full justice to its 3G connectivity while the OT-918D is based on 900MHz/2100MHz frequency.
Similar Features
Other aspects however are more or less similar. It would be wrong to expect too much from these low-entry level features just like the devices of their class. Both the OT-918N and OT-918D run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and boasts of a 650MHz processor with the backup of 256MB RAM.
Both of these devices have a 3.2 inches LCD screen with an HVGA resolution which is an appreciable feature. Other standard additional features include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 3MP camera, A-GPS and so on.
One very interesting fact about these dual sim phones is the placement of the sim cards, wherein, both the sim cards need to be inserted into the same slot, the first facing downwards, while the other one faces upwards and is placed on top of the first one. People in demand of high quality may prefer both these devices.
