3G phones are ruling the roost in the Indian market, but that does not seem to last for too long as very soon 4G will be making its debut and manufacturers are all busy planning for the next wave of Smartphones that can support the 4G communication technology which provides unparalleled internet speeds on Smartphones and other domestic uses as well.
Today we take a comparative look at two 4G models announced by LG and Samsung recently. The phones are christened the LG Connect 4G and the Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G respectively. Let us take a closer look at who is the better of the two.
Looks and Display
There is nothing much to distinguish the phones based on their looks as both are full touch screen phones that come with large display screens. However, the Connect has a larger 4.0 inch display as compared to the 3.5 inches of the Attain 4G. Both are multi touch enabled and are capacitive in nature.
Hard Facts
The LG Connect is definitely the more powerful of the two as it comes with a Dual Core 1.2 GHz processor that is coupled to a 1 GB RAM which imparts superior multi tasking and superlative performance standards to the phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Attain is not very behind in processor speed as it is equipped with a 1 GHz processor but only has a 512MB RAM coupled to it thereby taking away some of the fun.
Android all the Way
Both the phones come loaded with the 2.3 Gingerbread version of the Android OS and thus provides full fledged support for almost every app and game found in the Android market. They are both equipped with full fledged HTML browsers as well.
Camera
The Connect 4G scores in the camera department as it has a 5 mega pixel camera capable of offering 720p video recording in comparison to the 3 mega pixel of the Attain which offers normal VGA recording.
But the Attain has a better front camera rated at 1.3 Mega Pixels as compared to the VGA of the Connect and thus provides better video calling clarity.
Entertainment
Multi format music and video playback is supported in both the phones and they both are equipped with 3.5 mm headphone jacks and offer clear and precise sound output.
Data and internet
The Attain and Connect do not lack any sophisticated communication and data transfer technologies available today. They both come with features such as
The LG connect comes with an internal memory of 4GB and is expandable up to 32 GB via a Micro SD expansion slot. The Samsung Galaxy Attain lacks comprehensive internal memory support but can be expanded to 32 GB via a Micro SD slot as well.
Final Verdict
The LG Connect 4G looks to have a clear cut advantage of the Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G in terms of performance and other primary features such as Camera, but since the pricing of the models are yet to be announced it is hard to take a final decision. If they are similarly priced, then the LG Connect is definitely the better choice.
