Nokia Asha Series


Nokia launches its new range of phone targeting Indian youth with smarter phones. Nokia hopes to tap the “next billion” potential in India with its Asha range of smartphones. Affordable yet powerful, Nokia Asha will satisfy the needs of the demanding teenagers.


Presenting four phones in this series Asha 200, 201, 300 and 303, they are priced between Rs. 4,100 and Rs. 8,000 with a Windows Phone 7.5 and 1GHz processor supporting 3G.


Nokia 200 and 201 both have QUERTY keyboards while 300 and 303 have touch screens. Asha 303 has both QUERTY as well as touch screen. 200/201 both run the S40 feature phone platform with the ability to run apps from the Nokia store.

Asha 300/303 have higher features compared to 200/201. Asha 300 has a 5 MP camera on the backside and a high speed 1GHz processor making it much faster than the 200/201 models.


Asha 303 is an even higher model with a QUERTY keypad as well as a capacitive touchscreen. Asha 300/303 comes with a pre-loaded browser which efficiently loads web pages quickly.

Though not included in the high-end category of phones, these phones bridge the gap between feature phones and smartphones and with a sturdy plastic body and trendy looks, they will surely attract the college going youth.
